World Green Movement Day Declaration
Every early spring marks a vital starting point, connecting Earth Day on April 22nd and World Environment Day on June 5th. It symbolizes the launch of green actions and the sprouting of hope. In this season of renewal, we gather strength, ignite the green fire, and stride together toward an ecological civilization.
We launch “World Green Movement Day” to unite humanity’s green will, mobilizing global citizens to co-create a green future and build a sustainable world. We uphold the five core values of the World Green Movement—Environment First, Life First, Ecological Harmony, Resource Sharing, and Sustainable Development—and actively practice the five green actions—Hello Uncle Tree, Oh No Mr Rubbish, Say No To Plastic, We Own We Cherish, and We Are One, making green awareness a shared commitment and responsibility.
We know knowledge alone isn’t enough—what’s needed is sustained action, the “green fire” of drive, courage, and perseverance. Your actions shape history. Action begins stories, and stories change the world. Today marks a milestone in humanity’s fight against the ecological crisis—a race to save Earth, our only home. Every effort, big or small, matters.
The Center for Green Public History will document and celebrate every green action, inspiring every green citizen to persevere. Let the green fire burn brightly, eliminating indifference. No more bystanders or cynics—only united action. Green actions everywhere ensure green life thrives. World Green Movement Day is every day, and The Green World Welcome You! 3, 2, 1—Action!

About Us
Malaysia Ecological Civilization Communication Center (MECCC)
The Malaysia Ecological Civilization Communication Center (MECCC), established in August 2018, is committed to uniting ecological culture enthusiasts, volunteers, scholars, and businesses from Malaysia and Southeast Asia to promote ecological civilization education. Its goal is to solidify the foundation of ecological culture and build a future of harmonious coexistence between humans and nature.
In October 2018, MECCC co-initiated the establishment of the Center for Green Public History at the School of Humanities, Tsinghua University, China. The aim was to bring green education to a global scale. During the center’s inauguration, MECCC launched the global green public campaign ‘We Love Cleanliness, We Love Green Action’ to sow the seeds of green awareness across the world.
In 2019, MECCC further initiated the World Green Movement Day 321. This date—March 21st—symbolizes the ecological values of People (harmonious relationships between people), Planet (care for the environment), and Planning (sustainable future development). It has since become a symbolic day for global green citizens to take part in green actions and raise environmental awareness.
It is worth noting that the World Green Movement Day 321, initiated independently by MECCC, resonates harmoniously with other key international environmental days. March 21 (321) symbolizes the awakening of green consciousness; April 22, Earth Day, reminds humanity to cherish our planet; and June 5, World Environment Day, calls for concrete global action in protecting the environment. These three dates form a ‘Green Action Trilogy’ — Awakening (321), Appreciation (422), and Action (June 5), creating a progressive rhythm for global ecological civilization communication. This reflects MECCC’s core belief that ‘Education is Action, and Action is Culture.’
MECCC’s core vision is to fulfill the educational mission of ecological civilization. Education is at the heart of MECCC’s initiatives, not only in promoting green awareness but also in cultivating values and practical actions through a systematic, dynamic, and sustainable educational framework.
In terms of value-based education, MECCC emphasizes five key principles: Environment First, Life First, Ecological Harmony, Resource Sharing, and Sustainable Development.
To implement these values in action, MECCC promotes five major Green Movement programs: ‘Hello Tree’ (Heart of Green) for caring for nature and landscapes; ‘Oh No Mr. Rubbish’ (Pure Heart) for purifying the environment and the human mind; ‘Say No to Plastic’ (Recycling Heart) to eliminate single-use plastics and reduce harmful substances; ‘Cherish What You Have’ (Protective Heart) to treasure life, resources, time, and education; and ‘Interconnected Rings’ (Caring Heart) to care for the environment and vulnerable communities.
MECCC also fosters character development by emphasizing inner qualities such as gratitude, appreciation, responsibility, love, and selflessness, along with external behaviors like respect, understanding, tolerance, support, and education.
To widely disseminate the concept of ecological civilization, MECCC actively promotes diverse educational and cultural strategies, including the creation of green cultural materials (songs, writing, videos), organizing Greenastic Camps, building Ecological Civilization Schools, integrating green values into associations and community groups, participating in green public activities and forums, and facilitating SDGS and ESG related dialogue and collaboration among governments, institutions, and communities.
